During the workshop we dig for stories, reflect, and discuss to help us find the essense of our story and deliver it in the most impactful way.
The only way to get better at something is to practice! We learn presentation techniques, present to each other, receive feedback and coaching and iterate our story.
On Sunday night we get on stage (not mandatory but highly recommended) to share our story for an audience. It's a little bit scary, but completely worth it!

You do not need to have a full story prepared. We do recommend that you have some story ideas in mind. To find some good prompts to start thinking about stories, have a look at the tips and tricks on our submisson page!
We welcome people from every corner of the world, every religion and every gender, and as such we use English as the main language at all En Route workshops and events.
To have good energy in the group we will require a minimum of 6 people in the workshop. To keep it intimate and personal the maximum will be 12 people.
You do not need any performance experience. In fact, most of our storytellers have no experience speaking in public at all. Just be your authentic self and watch the magic happen.
It’s highly encouraged (and deeply rewarding), but optional.
Yes! They can purchase tickets through a separate page (coming soon).
For the story on stage we maintain a sweet spot of a minimum of 4 minutes and a maximum of 6 minutes with a grace period of 1 minute.
Oki Alexander is the founder of En Route Stories and has been organizing storytelling events in his adopted home town of Valencia, training dozens of storytellers in the process, among which professional communication managers and writers.
Oki studied architecture at the University of Technology in Delft, where he soon discovered that a poor design with a good presentation scored better than a good design with a poor presentation.
When he later developed his career in Learning & Development he realized how these presentation skills helped to get information across more efficiently, especially when it was through a story that conveyed context and meaning.
As the head of R&D with a startup in the field of children's education he started to make stories an integral part of the methodology, and in the process extracted the principles behind telling a good story.
Now, after 20 years in China, he is back in Europe to bring the art and value of storytelling to a broader audience.
Our workshop sessions will take place at Espiritu 23 Coworking, a calm and cozy space in central Madrid. It’s got just the right mix of focus and warmth — perfect for diving deep and letting your creativity flow.
For our final performance, we’ll gather at Tempo Club — a legendary Madrid venue known for its rich atmosphere, great acoustics, and intimate stage. It’s the kind of space that makes you feel both held and lit up, the perfect setting to share your story with heart and power.
